Babs started her cooking journey with a pressure cooker and a wood-fired stove, when she and Naveen moved to Suriya Gaon in 1994. Her love for cooking and the ability to churn out lavish meals using bare minimum ingredients available back then, made her a magician of sorts. Over the years, her culinary skills became a part of her identity and the cafe came into being as an expression of her love for food.

They say that location is key in the food business, but we are so far off from any commercial activity that its safe to say, this isn’t business at all. Our happy place, this is where we cook with veggies from our organic farm, homegrown herbs and local produce, to put together delicious, wholesome and sometimes experimental meals. We take pride in using seasonal and locally grown ingredients, because of which our recipes may not always be consistent, however taste and quality are two things we never compromise on.

Babs’ Cafe In The Woods, as its name suggests, is a small cafe set amidst pine trees and serves as an in house dining for our guests. Our cafe is also open for guests who are not staying with us, by reservation only. We appreciate a minimum notice of 24 hours, since we believe that food is something that takes time and love to prepare.
